Sad News!

Last week the director of youth ministry, Anna McAndrews, informed me that she has accepted a position as campus minister at Ursuline Academy beginning in August. I was very sad to hear this. Anna has done a wonderful job working with the teenagers in our parish and directing the confirmation program with our 8th graders. She is highly respected as a youth minister in the Archdiocese, and we will sorely miss her. She will continue to work through the summer here at QAS until mid-August. Of course we will begin to search for a new youth minister, but in recent weeks I have also been attending meetings with pastors from five South County parishes and representatives from the Southern Vicariate to explore the possibility of a unified ministry to the youth in our area. Under Anna’s direction, our young people have already been participating in various events with other youth groups from neighboring parishes and the hope is to collaborate with our neighbors in creating a common ministry to youth, sharing ministerial leadership and financial resources. Its still just an idea at this stage, so please pray for the future of our youth and pray for Anna, thanking God for all she has done for Queen of All Saints and for all the good that she will do in the future at Ursuline Academy. Thank you, Anna!
