Cana - Nazareth and Tabor

Our first stop on our pilgrimage this morning was to the Town of Cana, to the church that commemorated the Wedding Feast at Cana.  Under the main body of the church you will find excavations which reveal stone jars much like those that would have been used at the time of Jesus. The married couples present had the opportunity to renew their wedding vows.

Our visit to the town of Nazareth and the Church of the Annuniciation culminated with joining the Franciscans in the Noon Angelus.  It was a bit overwhelming as the bells pealed at noon and the Franciscans processed to the grotto of the Annunication.

The last place for our pilgrimage today was to the Mount of the Transfiguration where Archbishop Naumann celebrated Mass for us.  Located high on a mountain the only way to make it to the top is by taxi as the roads are too narrow and steep for large bus.  At the top the view is amazing of the country of Israel.
