Join the Vibrant Life at Queen of All Saints

At Queen of All Saints, our mission is to foster a welcoming environment where faith and community thrive together. We believe in the power of collective action and the importance of each parishioner’s role in building a vibrant church life. Through active participation, we aim to nurture spiritual growth and strengthen our bonds as a community of believers dedicated to living out the teachings of Christ.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

With 100+ members, QAS’s St. Vincent de Paul parish conference is one of the largest of 143 conferences in the St. Louis Council that numbers over 3000 Vincentians.

The first United States conference was organized at the “Old Cathedral” in St Louis, Missouri on November 20, 1845. Worldwide the pioneering organization of first Vincentians began their work in the slums of Paris, France in 1833. Our parish SVdP, which organized February 1991, mirrors the national and international organizations in their creative way of bringing Christ to the poor.  To quote our patron, St. Vincent de Paul, “Charity is infinitely inventive.”  So our parish QAS members quickly established ministries traditional to the international and national societies.  Some of these long-established ministries are our “Client Visitation Teams” and the “Food Pantry.”  But our conference has also implemented innovative approaches created by its members (most recently the “Blanket by Faith,” “Holy Couponers,” and “Holy Bakers” ministries) which bolster our mission to reach out to the poor and needy in South County and South St. Louis.

An essential precept of the Society’s work is to provide help by upholding the confidentiality and dignity of each person served.   It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique as often we advocate for those who are defenseless or voiceless.  We work with Project PLUS, Project MORE, Places for People, Let’s Start, and St. Anthony of Padua Food Pantry. Needy people come to these agencies for help and some are referred to us.  We call on them in their homes, assess their needs, and help with utility bills, rent, groceries, furniture, clothing and finding resources for education and job opportunities.  In addition, we pray for them and with them whenever occasion allows.

Client Visitation Teams

Vincentian teams of two members, make home visits to determine clothing, food, utility, and rent assistance needs for those facing challenging times. One of the major pillars of the St. Vincent DePaul Society is to embrace our “Neighbors In Need” person to person. In 2024 our 14 QAS Visitation teams made 243 person-to-person home visits. They provided:

  • $25,320 in Grocery Certificates
  • $10,340 for Ameren Assistance
  • $7,455 for Spire Assistance
  • $1,062 for Water Bills
  • $2,925 for Transportation
  • $7,014 for Rent
  • $1,015 for Motels
  • $19, 792 for Twinning (Providing funds in other SVDP Parishes)

That’s $74,923 in direct assistance to over 1,000 Neighbors in Need. One of the biggest things they do is just listen with empathy to the Neighbors’ story. They always try to focus on how we can help this Neighbor become self-sufficient.

Respect for Life

Respect for all human life from conception to natural death is one of our core beliefs as Catholics. Queen of All Saints Respect Life Apostolate (RLA) seeks to share the truths of the Gospel of Life of Jesus Christ and His Church with our parish and community.

Our call is to witness to the truth that all human life is sacred; to educate, advocate, and pray that all may understand and live the message that Jesus taught us about the dignity each person possesses, having been created in the image and likeness of God.

Please join us at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis on Lindell Blvd. on the 3rd Saturday of each month as we gather with the larger pro-life community for 8:00 am Mass. Immediately following Mass, there is a rosary procession and prayer vigil at the Planned Parenthood abortion facility at Forest Park and Boyle.

For the perseverance of Vocations:

All Alumni Welcome!

An ACTS Retreat is a parish-based event which offers parishioners an opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ. This in turn fosters a desire for intentional discipleship.  ACTS Retreats are given by parishioners for parishioners, and in this way, serve to build Christian community at a parish.

The ACTS Retreat begins Thursday evening and ends with Sunday Mass in the parish. While utilizing prayer, service, and teaching, the ACTS Retreat meets people where they are in their spiritual journey and invites them to experience God in a manner that is both personal and communal. In this way, the ACTS Retreat fulfills the mission of:

“Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ among Catholic communities”

The ACTS Retreat experience is rooted in the Pascal Mystery in that retreatants are invited to reflect on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Throughout the weekend, they are invited to prayerfully consider how they can respond to His love by spiritually surrendering to Jesus in order to have new life with Him. This invitation is extended through the pillars of the apostolate:

Adoration
A response to God’s love through prayer and worship

Community
Participating in the One Body of Christ as Church

Theology
Deepening our relationship with God in order to better fulfill His will

Service
Answering the call to discipleship by following the model He gave us

Those who attend an ACTS retreat share in an experience that has impacted more than one million lives worldwide since the first retreat in 1987. There are numerous testimonies describing retreatants who were evangelized through a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. They witness to becoming better fathers, mothers, husbands, wives and children.
Parishes have been revitalized, diaconate classes have been filled, and all seek to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer and service.

As a result, ACTS is supported by bishops and priests worldwide as a legitimate participant in the Church’s New Evangelization. Through ACTS, the laity respond to their baptismal call, and seek to participate in the apostolic mission of the Church to “go and make disciples of all nations.”
